About AmeriSave
AmeriSave Mortgage is one of the largest privately owned online mortgage lenders in the United States, offering a full range of mortgage and refinance products through direct-to-consumer, retail, and third-party origination channels. With a mission to make the mortgage process simple, quick, and affordable, AmeriSave serves clients in nearly every U.S. state through its digital-first platform.
Challenge
The mortgage industry is cyclical — and so is its workforce. When rates are low and demand spikes, AmeriSave needs to onboard hundreds of team members quickly. When conditions shift, efficiency becomes critical.
Before using Colossyan, AmeriSave relied on week-long onboarding sessions led by trainers using PowerPoint decks. Trainers repeated the same sessions for each new hire group, and as internal systems evolved daily, training videos became outdated.
“Our systems and procedures change all the time. As a new team member, you need to understand how to use our system, follow our policies, and speak to clients appropriately — all in a short amount of time.”
— Magesh Sarma
Updating video content was time-consuming and inefficient. Even a small change required re-recording entire sessions. As a result, training often lagged behind operational changes, reducing team member confidence and increasing support requests.
Solution
AmeriSave turned to Colossyan to modernize its training with scalable, AI-generated video. Their internal training team uses Colossyan to build and maintain a full library of training videos. The platform enables them to:
- Replace static slides with engaging avatar-led videos
- Update content instantly without re-recording
- Personalize videos using avatars based on their real trainers
- Build self-service video training resources team members can revisit anytime
- Increase the absorption and retention of the training material
“Instead of showing dry PowerPoint slides over a long period of time and having team members become less attentive, we can have an avatar with an engaging voice, and even use our own trainers as avatars. This has a meaningful impact on the absorption and retention of the training we give to our team members.”

How AmeriSave’s team use Colossyan:
- They have created several custom templates for different types of videos.
- They create short explainer videos for different parts of their systems to help internal users navigate common questions or issues they run into.
- They use the PowerPoint conversion to create an initial draft of the training they wish to convert to a video.
- Their most used feature is custom avatar voices — all of their training videos are narrated by an AmeriSave trainer, and explainer videos are narrated by IT staff.
- Currently, they save around 50% of their time by creating video content in Colossyan, and expect to save around 80% once their videos are completed, and will only require updates.
Results
With Colossyan, AmeriSave has transformed its onboarding and training operations:
Training that stays current
With systems and procedures changing daily, AmeriSave can now update just the relevant video section—instead of recreating entire modules.
Improved knowledge retention
Training content is clearer, more engaging, and easier to revisit. Team members retain more of what they learn and have an up-to-date video library they can reference anytime.
Reduced support load
On-demand videos reduce the need for repeated questions and support requests, freeing up teams and improving productivity across the organization.
“Our trainers used to repeat the same sessions over and over. Now, with Colossyan, they can create once and scale across teams. The value we get from our team has doubled.”
— Magesh Sarma
A partner, not just a platform
AmeriSave credits Colossyan’s team with helping them get up and running fast. From hands-on onboarding to ongoing support, the high-touch experience ensured long-term success.
“It didn’t feel like everyone vanished after the sale. The Colossyan team was engaged throughout, and that helped our trainers get exactly what they needed.”
